Worthy People

I like humans who aren't dull. Those beings who connect their tongue to their brain before speaking. Who don’t open their mouths just to let their thoughts breathe. The kind who don’t answer “How are you?” with just a bland “fine.” People you ask for a good movie and they don’t say “American Pie,” but maybe something like Dial M for Murder — okay, maybe not that old, but something just as good as Crash. Maybe not the type who knows who Kubrick is, but still worth your time, someone whose company makes you feel amazing. People who catch your attention because they’re so interesting, they don’t tell you water boils at 100°C — instead, they share some unique thing they’ve discovered, something you didn’t know before.

Something like Photo 51 or the Dyatlov Pass incident. The kind who don’t start their stories with “I know a guy who…” People who, even when they drink, keep it classy. The type who won’t ask if you got a haircut when it’s very obviously shorter. Or ask if you’re okay two seconds after you almost broke your neck. Souls who conquer their fears, not hide them. Who don’t crumble after failure, but persist. Who make smart jokes. Who, when they recommend a website, don’t leave you thinking “what the hell did I just click on?” People with a certain charm in everything they do. I like them — but they’re very rare. That’s why, when I find them, I’m even more drawn in.
